Good Original Surface
The original surface on which the tiles would be laid has to be smooth and should not have any loose ends or edges. The new floor may come out good with proper tiling techniques, but floppy edges of the surface below can lead to incorrect tiling which results in a not so good appearance in the end. The covering below not only needs to be flat but clean so that the adhesive works its way. You are required to plain down all the high spots and even remove any loose boards incase of wooden floors. Rough spots manage to steadily ruin the aesthetic look of the floor.
Cleaning the Original Surface
Next in line is the cleaning part. A good cleaning chemical can be used during the cleaning process to clean the concerned original surface.
